REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE RIGHT TO SEATED REST AND THE ALTERNATION OF STANDING TASKS
Law No. 32721, published on July 8, 2026, establishes measures to safeguard the health, dignity, and productivity of employees who perform their work while standing for prolonged periods.
The main aspects regulated by the Law are as follows:
The Law is subject to implementing regulations; however, it is immediately applicable, particularly with respect to: (i) the provision of appropriate chairs or seats for employees; and (ii) the amendment of the Internal Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (RISST), for which the compliance deadline is June 3, 2027.
