The Civilly Liable Party in Criminal Proceedings
Our associate Isabel Tello, a specialist in criminal litigation, published the article “The Civilly Liable Party in Criminal Proceedings” in No. 64 (2025): Economic Criminal Law and Compliance of the journal Law & Society from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
In her work, she analyzes the recognition of the "civilly liable party" as a procedural participant in the Peruvian criminal process, based on the provisions of Article 111 of the Criminal Procedure Code. She also distinguishes between the civilly liable party and the third party civilly liable, highlighting the importance of not confusing these two figures, as they have different legal nature, rules, and consequences.
